Hotel Kununurra
Welcome to the Hotel Kununurra. Offering friendly and personalised Kimberley style hospitality, this iconic Kununurra property has long been an integral part of Kununurra and today still remains an important meeting place for the community. Locally known as ‘The Pub’, the property was built when Kununurra was first established in the early 1960’s to service the Ord Irrigation Scheme.
The accommodation is centrally located in the heart of town, close to all amenities such as Coles, the Post Office, the local pool and leisure centre. It has a bottle shop, several bars, a great restaurant and entertainment almost every night. The hotel offers a very comfortable standard of accommodation with fully equipped rooms that are tastefully decorated. We have a range of options to suit different budgets from the well priced single bed or twin rooms to the recently refurbished premium suites.
Kununurra is the stepping off point to the many attractions in the East Kimberley including the Ord River, the famous Bungle Bungles (Purnululu National Park) and the magnificent attractions around Lake Argyle, a 70km drive away. There are a vast range of touring options and many easy day trips that can be taken using your own car. Let us help you plan your itinerary, or you may like to visit the Kununurra Visitor Centre once you have arrived.
Kununurra enjoys two ‘seasons’. The dry season from May to September is our busiest time so if you are planning a visit during these months please ensure you book your accommodation in advance. From October to March the town is a little quieter and a lot hotter! There is still plenty to do but make sure you plan around the temperatures which can reach 38 – 40 degrees during this time. Luckily at this time of year we usually enjoy rain and activities can be planned that include waterholes, waterfalls and swimming.
